Lila Rafferty Qualifies to Compete at World’s Largest Junior High Rodeo

June 17, 2025 –  Lila Rafferty, a 5th-grade student at Joaquin Elementary School has earned a position on the Louisiana state/provincial National Junior High rodeo team and will be traveling with fellow teammates to Des Moines, IA June 22nd thru June 28th to compete at the 20th annual National Junior High Finals Rodeo (NJHFR) in barrel Racing competition.

June 17, 2025 – Alaina Dean, an 8th-grade student at Joaquin Junior High School has earned a position on the Texas state/provincial National Junior High rodeo team and will be traveling with fellow teammates to Des Moines, IA June 22nd thru June 28th to compete at the 20th annual National Junior High Finals Rodeo (NJHFR) in girls goat tying and girls breakaway roping competitions.

June 17, 2025 - Good Morning! It’s Tuesday, June 17.

My neighbor has a big white dog whose name, surprisingly, is “Whitey”. He’s a Great Pyrenees and weighs in at around 150 pounds. My neighbor knows that Whitey is his dog. I know that Whitey is his dog. Someone, however, has forgotten to inform Whitey of this. Whitey spends most of his time at my house.  

Sam Houston State University Announces Spring 2025 Dean's List

June 16, 2025 - Maria Chavez and Jalen Postell both of Center are listed on the Dean's List of Academic Honors at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, are undergraduates who have achieved a grade point average of at least 3.5 out of a perfect 4.0 in all work attempted while enrolled in not less than 12 semester hours.

The university recognizes Maria Chavez and Jalen Postell for earning the honor for the Spring 2025 semester.

Any given year can have up to three Friday the 13th’s - or as few as one. The people who suffer from paraskevidekatriaphobia will be glad to hear that 2025 has just one. Paraskevidekatriaphobia is the fear of this dreaded day, and it’s also a word you don’t want to get in a spelling bee. This particular superstition ranks right up there with walking under a ladder, breaking a mirror, or crossing paths with a black cat.
