June 4, 2025 - Good Morning! It’s Wednesday, June 4.

Today we focus on purpose and position. Do you believe that God has a particular purpose for your life? If so, has He placed you in a particular position to fulfill that purpose? I believe that the Bible would answer both these questions with a resounding “Yes!”, and demonstrates this, time and time again, through the life stories of its characters - characters like the Apostle Paul.

Property Owners Can Protest Property Appraisal Values

June 3, 2025 - Property owners who disagree with the Shelby County Appraisal District’s appraisal of their property for local taxes or for any other action that adversely affects them may protest their property value to the appraisal district’s Appraisal Review Board (ARB).

A property owner must file a written notice of protest before June 8th or within 30 days after the appraisal district mails the taxpayer a notice of appraised value, whichever is later. The ARB will begin hearing taxpayer protests on June 24th.

Texans Encouraged to Prepare, Stay Informed Throughout 2025 Hurricane Season

Public Utility Commission of Texas website hosts outage map, tips for staying safe during extreme weather 

June 2, 2025 – The Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) is urging all Texans to stay alert and informed during the 2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season, which begins this week and extends through November 30. Texans can track potential power outages and restoration times using the PUCT’s Storm Resources webpage.   

Dr. Golden Transitions Practice to Nacogdoches; Expresses Appreciation

May 31, 2025 - After proudly serving the Shelby County, Texas community for 48 years, Dr. Dixon Golden announces his transition to full-time optometry practice in his Nacogdoches, Texas office known as Texas State Optical, located at 4729 NE Stallings and directly behind Walmart on the loop. Dr. Golden is no longer seeing patients in his former Center location.
