On this day in 1685, the man who, arguably, was the greatest musician in history, was born. His name was Johann Sebastian Bach. He died in 1750, a quarter century before America was born, producing a body of work, in his 65 years, unparalleled by any other composer.
March 20, 2023 - I awoke this morning at 2:00 and began thinking about the house we lived in when I was six years old (1939). It was located down the hill from the old Center, Texas Grammar school on Arcadia Road. It was big, old and just high enough off the ground for our dog Nellie to go under it in bad weather.
March 20, 2023 - Attorney General Paxton won judgments shutting down a massive robocall operation involving John Caldwell Spiller II and his business partner, Jakob Mears. Spiller and Mears owned the Texas-based Rising Eagle Capital Group LLC, JSquared Telecom LLC, and Rising Eagle Capital Group–Cayman.
These defendants blasted billions of illegal robocalls to people across the country, bombarding Texans with hundreds of millions of robocalls, many of which were made to people whose numbers were registered with the Do Not Call Registry.

March 16, 2023 - My name is Leisa Lovelady Chadwick, and I am writing today to formally announce my candidacy for Timpson ISD School Board. I am married to Mike Chadwick and our children have attended Timpson ISD, where they have previously graduated. I also have a grandson that has graduated and two other grandchildren that are currently attending Timpson ISD. There are many students still attending and several have graduated, that I have taught, and they will always be special to me.
Family of 14-year-old killed joins TxDOT to urge everyone to follow traffic safety laws
March 16, 2023 – At just 14 years old, Alexei Bauereis was struck and killed while walking his bike across a crosswalk in Austin, cutting short his young life and promising ballet career.
“He was on the verge of that stage where you find out how you stack up against professionals,” Alexei’s dad Eric Bauereis said.
