January 10, 2023 - Good Morning! It’s Tuesday, January 10.

I have just one question for you today - are your Christmas decorations still up? Well, if they are, then you need to get busy! It’s the 10th day of January! Come on! Seriously, there will be no shaming coming from me. I didn’t take down my inside decorations till yesterday. And my outside lights are still up and there’s still a Santa on my front porch. I’ve heard about people that leave their Christmas lights up all year. I’m developing a profound respect for these people.

January 9, 2023 - A friend recently sent me some examples of signs of various natures whose authors apparently did not read them after completion. I am constantly amazed at the apparent lack of the proper use of the basics of the English language by our current generation. The following examples are not mine, but I would like to pass them along for your amusement:

January 6, 2023 - Good Morning! It’s Friday, January 6.

On this day, in 1836, a portrait painter named Samuel Morse demonstrated a machine that would transmit messages electronically. He called it the telegraph. It was the first time in human history that that had happened. It changed the world.

January 4, 2023 - Good Morning! It's Wednesday, January 4.

January 3, 2023 – Increasing costs of maintenance and other requirements are driving the need for the USDA Forest Service to reinstate the fee at the Angelina National Forest-Boykin Springs Recreation Area. The new fee will take effect on January 3, 2023.
