David's Daily Devotion for May 20

May 20, 2022 - Good Morning! It's Friday, May 20.

This Sunday, in our Broadcast Sunday School Class, I'll be teaching from Matthew 24:42 - "Be alert! For you do not know when your LORD is coming." That's Jesus talking, to His disciples and to us, about the end of the world, and His second coming. But I don't want to talk about the end of the world this morning. I want to talk about that word "LORD."

David's Daily Devotion for May 18

May 18, 2022 - Good Morning. It’s Wednesday, May 18.

This afternoon I’ll be attending a funeral. A good friend lost his daughter to cancer. And a few years ago he lost his wife to the same cancer. And he faces cancer now himself.  At times in our lives, it seems that we are given more than we can bear. Perhaps you’ve had times like that in your life. Perhaps you’re going through a time like that right now.

We turn to friends. We turn to family. We turn to The Word.

USDA - Bring Food Safety to Your Summer Vacation

May 17, 2022 – As summertime brings families and friends together for outdoor celebrations, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) wants to make sure your summer festivities are food safe. Whether you’re grilling burgers, camping, or having a picnic, everyone should always remember to practice proper handwashing and use a food thermometer.

After observing that consumer behavior in test kitchens revealed that people are skipping basic food safety practices, USDA is concerned that consumers are not doing enough to reduce the risk of foodborne illness.
