David's Daily Devotion for May 6

May 6, 2022 - Good Morning! It’s Friday, May 6.

I hope that you had the opportunity to attend a National Day of Prayer event yesterday. We had a good crowd to gather here in Shelby County, Texas. But not quite enough to complete the human prayer chain around our historic 1885 courthouse. We were blessed to give it a try, but it turned out not to be possible. Today we focus on a man who did the impossible.

May 5, 2022 - Last month, I was proud to co-host the Lone Star Legislative Summit in Nacogdoches with Rep. Travis Clardy in conjunction with the Nacogdoches Chamber of Commerce. We hosted a number of attendees from across the state including Speaker Dade Phelan and panels on immigration and border security, education, infrastructure, energy, health care, and social media and freedom of speech. It was a pleasure to have so many familiar faces in East Texas.

Here are five things happening around your state:

David's Daily Devotion for May 5

May 5, 2022 - Good Morning! It’s Thursday, May 5.

In Ephesians 6 we read these words - “Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world. Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.”

“The Dollar Versus Crypto” by Neal Murphy

May 2, 2022 - I realize that I am getting old and set in my ways, but I am constantly being surprised by what is going on in our country these days.  I am not a great fan of computers, but I have to admit that they have about taken over our country.  A good example is that a new computer form of money has taken off and is invading most of our lives.  The most prominent one is called “Cryptocurrency”.  What in the heck is this new form of legal tender?  Since I had never heard of it until recently, I had to do a little research.  I discovered the following items:
