TWC Postpones Setting 2021 Employer Tax Rates

March 2, 2021 - The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) delayed the setting of the employer’s unemployment insurance tax rates to allow for more time for ongoing legislative efforts and the continuing economic recovery to play out. This is part of our continuing efforts to pursue all options to keep the 2021 tax rates as low as possible for Texas employers. Last week, Governor Greg Abbott suspended a section of the Texas Labor Code which paved the way for the TWC decision. Governor Abbott’s suspension allows for postponement of the setting of tax rates until July 2021.

February 25, 2021 - These past several days have been trying for all Texans, from those losing power and heat to those that found themselves without water, or boiling water from previously safe sources, and many who experienced all of these conditions simultaneously.  

There have been billions of dollars in property damage from weather related instances and burst pipe and water damage, but most heartbreakingly, dozens of Texans died trying to survive the cold, many inside their own homes.

City of Huxley Rescinds Public Notice to Boil Water for All Customers

February 27, 2021 - The boil water notice for The City of Huxley has been lifted.


February 16, 2021 - Due to loss of pressure, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the City of Huxley Public Water System 2100019 to notify all customers to boil their water prior to consumption (e.g., washing hands/face, brushing teeth, drinking, etc). 

Sandhill Public Water System Rescinds Boil Water Notice

February 26, 2021 - On February 16th, 2021, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the Sand hills public water system, PWS 2100013, to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals, or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

East Lamar Water Supply Rescinds Boil Water Notice

The water on East Lamar Water Supply no longer requires boiling.

February 26, 2021 - On February 18, 2021, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the East Lamar Water Supply, #2100006, to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.
