February 26, 2025 - Good Morning! It’s Wednesday, February 26.

Yesterday was simply gorgeous here in Deep East Texas - 75 degrees, a picture-perfect blue sky with not a cloud n it. A “Chamber of Commerce” day, as the saying goes. That’s a day when the weather is so incredibly nice it causes people from all over the world to come and live in your town. Actually, that sounds like a premise for a horror movie. But, whatever the outcome, yesterday was just such a day.

The Bible teaches us in many different ways. There are verses that explain doctrine, there are poems of praise, there are characters who serve as examples. And then there are the stories. As children, these stories are our first gateway to understanding who God is, and these stories continue to guide us throughout our lives. One of the most dramatic Bible story is the Tower of Babel.

National Invasive Species Awareness Week Feb. 24-28

February 24, 2025 - National Invasive Species Awareness Week Feb. 24-28, Supports Initiatives to Prevent Harmful, Non-Native Plants and Wildlife. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) encourages Texans to take steps to prevent the introduction and spread of harmful invasive species that negatively impact the state’s natural resources and economy. National Invasive Species Awareness Week, scheduled for Feb.

Piney Woods Photographic Society "Abstract Macro Photography" Challenge Favorites

February 24, 2025 - The Piney Woods Photographic Society held their regular monthly meeting Saturday, February 15th, at the First Methodist Church in Center Texas. The February Challenge theme was "Abstract Macro Photography" where club members could submit up to 3 of their photos of Abstract Macro Photography for club favorite voting and discussion of each photo. There was also a workshop presented on photo processing using Lightroom/Photoshop in preparation of the March challenge.
