October 17, 2024 - Good Morning! It's Thursday, October 17.

The temperature gauge on my shed this morning read 39 degrees! Autumn has arrived. I love the "seams" of the seasons - those few days, four times each year, when nature tells us that a change has come. There's that moment in May when you can suddenly smell summer, that week in March when the world turns from black and white into color, that first winter frost. 

Governor Abbott Announces Texas Small Business Credit Initiative Program’s Approved Financial Institutions List, New Application Process

October 16, 2024 - Governor Greg Abbott today announced that the newest list of approved financial institutions participating in the Texas Small Business Credit Initiative (TSBCI) Program is available online as well as a new, simplified application process for financial institutions. The TSBCI Program supports small business growth and helps create new jobs through increased access to small business funding.

The event is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, from 9am to 2pm on the Downtown Square in Center, Texas.

Paxton Public Water System Rescinds Boil Water Notice

October 15, 2024 - On October 10, 2024, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the Paxton public water system, 2100012, to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals, or employees that due to low water pressure which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

RRC Extends Comment Period on Amendments to Chapter 3, Chapter 4 Rules Relating to Waste Management

September 19, 2024 - In response to public requests, the Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC) has extended the public comment period on proposed amendments to 16 Texas Administrative Code (TAC) §3.8 (also known as Statewide Rule 8), relating to Water Protection; 16 TAC §3.57(also known as Statewide Rule 57), relating to Reclaiming Tank Bottoms, Other Hydrocarbon Wastes, and Other Waste Materials; and 16 TAC Chapter 4, Subchapter B, relating to Commercial Recycling; and new 16 TAC Chapter 4, Subchapter A, relating to Oil and Gas Waste Management.
