September 30, 2024 - I suppose that you could call this a partial list of my “pet peeves”. Webster defines the word “peeve” as – “A vexation, to cause to be annoyed or resentful, to irritate, to vex”. All of these feelings befall all of us at one time or another. The following are a few of my most irritating peeves:

September 30, 2024 - Congratulations to the 2024 East Texas Poultry Festival Queen’s Court. Lillian Chisenhall was crowned the 2024 East Texas Poultry Festival Queen at the Coronation held Saturday, September 28th. Campbell Chase was First Runner Up and Addison Lloyd was Second Runner Up. Escorts Carson Bush and Kolton Scruggs were voted Grand Dukes.

September 27, 2024 - Good Morning!  It's Friday, September 27.

Today we conclude our week-long series on what the Bible has to say about dealing with disappointment.  I hope it has been a blessing to you.  

Yesterday we focused on a character closely associated with the themes of loss and challenge and disappointment - the character Job.  This morning's character, on the other hand,  is usually associated with themes of power and leadership and accomplishment.  But, early on, disappointment threatened all that success.  Today we look . . . at David.

September 25, 2024 - Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Roberta “Bobbi” Wager and Hussein Musa, M.D. to the Chronic Kidney Disease Task Force for terms set to expire at the pleasure of the Governor. The Task Force coordinates implementation of the state’s plan for prevention, early screening, diagnosis, and management of chronic kidney disease and educates health care professionals.
