Notice is hereby given that the polling places listed below will be open from 7:00 a. m. to 7:00 p. m., on Saturday, May 07, 2016, for voting in a general election to elect 2 school board trustee members.

March 28, 2016 - LUFKIN – A construction project in San Augustine is scheduled to begin this week that will improve safety and maneuverability along US 96.

Representatives from Moore Brothers, contractor for the project, and other sub-contractors met with TxDOT officials in a pre-construction meeting that signaled the beginning of the $7.3 million project. The meeting was held at the Lufkin District’s Nacogdoches Area Office.

March 28, 2016 - Texas farmers and ranchers can be granted property tax relief on their land. They may apply to the Shelby County Appraisal District for agricultural productivity appraisal and for a lower appraisal of their land based on how much they produce, versus what their land would sell for on the open market.
