CHS FFA Forage Team Advances to Area

April 6, 2015 - The Center High School FFA Forage Judging Team traveled to Lindale on Wednesday, April 1st for District Contest. The team placed 2nd overall, beating out some teams that were already ranked in the top ten of the state. Madison McMillian was ranked as the 5th high-point individual.

Team members are all Freshmen-Kaden LaRock, Emma Locke, Madison McMillian, and Lexi Moody. They are sponsored by Jerrett Cobb. They will be traveling to Sam Houston State University on Thursday, April 9th for the Area contest.

Center ISD Accepting Transfers

April 1, 2015 - Center ISD is now accepting transfers in grades K-12 for the 2015-2016 school year. Forms may be obtained from the Center ISD Administrative Office at 107 Private Road 605, or visiting the school’s website at www.centerisd.org or calling 598-5642 and the forms can be mailed out to you. The deadline is Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 3pm.

Center HS Boys Soccer Advance to Area

March 30, 2015 - On Friday, March 27th, the Center Roughrider Varsity Boys Soccer team traveled to Crockett High School to take on the Mexia Blackcats. In the first half of play, the Riders went ahead 2-0 with goals by Senior Captain, Gilberto Vega and Freshmen Marcos Lopez. The boys put up a great defense and were able to hold the Blackcats scoreless as they entered the second half of play.

Center HS FFA Competes at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo

Center HS Vet Med Tours Caldwell Zoo in Tyler

March 25, 2015 - On Tuesday, March 24th, the Center Vet Med class traveled to Tyler, Texas to tour the Caldwell Zoo. The tour started by walking the zoo from a spectator point-of-view, then they met up with a Zoo employee (Mrs. Judy who has worked in Zoos for over 30 years). She took the students behind the scenes.

Center FFA Takes Multiple Honors

March 24, 2015 - Center High School FFA recently participated in the Shelby County Livestock Show. According to one of the FFA sponsors, Jessica Shadix, "These kiddos don't just "feed an animal". They raise a livestock animal by some of the strictest standards in hope of making that animal the best they can! It is an amazing experience to see the joy that comes from their success!"

Center HS One Act Play Advances To Bi-District

March 24, 2015 - The Center High School One Act Play under the direction of Chris Watlington has advanced to Bi-District after a fabulous first showing at District.

Center Powerlifting Team Competes at Regional Meet, Lifter Advances to State

Devincent Hoyt, Senior State Qualifier March 17, 2015 - The Center High School Boys Powerlifting team had six lifters attend the Regional Meet in Rusk, Texas. As a team of only 6 lifters, the Riders came in a four way tie for 7th overall out of 28 teams and had one lifter qualify for State.
