Joaquin ISD Public Notice Regarding Destruction of Special Education Records

May 19, 2017 - Notice is hereby given that in accordance with 34CFR 300.573, Joaquin Independent School District intends to destroy the records of all students who exited from any special education program prior to and during the 2004-2005 school year.

Any student, or former student, who has reached 18 years of age, may review and/or receive these records by contacting the Special Education Department at (936)269-3258 X 239 and scheduling an appointment by July 30, 2017. Destruction of these records will begin August 30, 2017.

Joaquin ISD Federal Programs Meeting Non-Public Schools Notification

May 8, 2017 - Joaquin ISD plans to participate in the following Federal Programs during the 2017-2018 school year: Title I-Part A, Title I-Part C Migrant, Title II-Part A, Title III-Part A- LEP, Title IV, Part A, Carl D. Perkin – Title I, Part C and IDEA-B. Teachers, Paraprofessionals, Principals, Other School Personnel, Parents, Community Members and Business Representatives are invited to the 2017-2018 Consolidated Application meeting on Monday, May 15, 2017 at 5p.m. in the Administration Building Board Room.

May 3, 2017 - Joaquin ISD participated in the Special Olympics Track and Field Day on April 27, 2017 at Shelbyville ISD. Our athlete achievements are as follows:

Joaquin State Track and Field State Qualifiers

May 3, 2017 - The Joaquin Track team placed third overall at the regional track meet this past weekend in Palestine. Joaquin High School had 6 Boys qualify for the State Meet in Austin Texas on May 11-13.

They following athletes qualified: Justin Hooper in Triple Jump, Keith Johnson in the 300 Hurdles, and the Sprint Relay team that consist of Connor Bragg, Tray Wilkerson, Hunter Gates and Kase Yates.

Joaquin Lady Rams Area Playoff Series Information

May 1, 2017 - Joaquin Lady Rams vs. West Sabine Lady Tigers are competing in a best of three Series starting with game one on Friday, May 5th, 6:00 pm at West Sabine High School. Game two is Saturday, May 6th, 2:00 pm at Joaquin High School. Game three, if necessary, will be held thirty minutes following the end of game two. There is no charge for admission.

Joaquin HS BETA Club Raising Money for National Convention Trip

April 26, 2017 - The JHS BETA Club is raising money to go to our National Convention in Florida this summer. We will have a booth at the Joaquin Farmer's market each Saturday selling used books and baked goods. If you have any used books, any reading level, that you would like to donate, please let me know. Also, please come out on Saturdays from 8:00 to 12:00 noon to purchase books or baked goods. Thanks for your support.
