Center ISD Cancels In Person Classes Until Wednesday

February 21, 2021 - Center ISD is cancelling classes for Monday and Tuesday of this week. Due to the extensive power and water outages, along with the lack of internet in the majority of our campuses. Center ISD also has minor damage from from the winter storm. At this time Center ISD will resume in person classes on Wednesday, February 24, 2021. Please continue to check back for further updates.

 

City of Center Water Supply Update

February 18, 2021 - Unfortunately, our water system succumbed to the amount of water lost to leaks and consistent running faucets. Despite repairs of all known system leaks by midday Wednesday, reported customer leaks have been at unprecedented levels since Tuesday and still continue. Most people in the city began experiencing lower pressure and limited water yesterday afternoon requiring a system-wide boil water notice.

Timpson ISD Closed Thursday, Friday

February 17, 2021Timpson ISD will be closed for this Thursday and Friday.


February 17, 2021 - Timpson ISD will continue remote learning for Thursday and Friday, February 18-19, of this week due to extreme weather in our area. Please, continue to watch for other announcements as school may not be able to operate remotely if our area continues to have widespread power outages. In this event, a decision for closure may take place and an announcement will be made.

SWEPCO Storm Update as of 8pm

February 17, 2021 - As of 8 p.m., about 21,300 SWEPCO customers are without power after a winter storm brought freezing rain, ice, sleet and snow to the Ark-La-Tex. SWEPCO continues to monitor the weather, which may cause additional outages.

SWEPCO has nearly 2,400 workers ready to restore power. Workers positioned before the storm in Texarkana and Longview will move to staging areas in Shreveport, Mansfield and Center, Texas.

The majority of outages are in Natchitoches and Sabine parishes in Louisiana.

Tenaha ISD Extends Remote Instruction for the Week

Tenaha ISD family,

February 16, 2021 - Tenaha Schools will remain on “Remote Instruction” for the remainder of this week. We will return to regular on campus learning on Monday, February 22.

All playoff basketball games are being rescheduled and moved. Currently the girls are scheduled for Thursday in Cushing but we are fully aware that the current weather situation is unprecedented. We are basically considering changes up to the minute.
