September 24, 2020 - The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) provided the following School Reported COVID-19 Case numbers for the week of September 14th through September 20th as well as the cumulative cases for students and staff.

Scam Alert: AG Paxton Warns Texans About Text Message Scam

September 9, 2020 – Attorney General Ken Paxton today warned Texans about scammers sending text messages that include a false package delivery notice and a fraudulent link. The text messages in question usually claim that a package is pending delivery and requests the recipient to “claim ownership” by providing their credit card and personal information.

Any Texan who receives a suspicious text message should take the following steps:

Timpson ISD Closes School Early Due to Power Outage

September 2, 2020 - Due to the power failure and it’s impact on other working systems In the district, TISD will be closed for the remainder of today. We will resume classes tomorrow September 3, 2020 at the normal time.

Joaquin ISD Cancels School for Friday

August 27, 2020 - Joaquin ISD will remain closed through Friday, August 28th due to excessive power outages. Classes will resume on Monday, August 31st.

Center ISD Cancels School for Friday, Moves Football Game to Tatum

August 27, 2020 - Center ISD will not have school on Friday, August 28, following power outages across town.

The varsity football team will play on Friday at Tatum High School.

Excelsior School Closure Extends to Friday

August 27, 2020 - Excelsior ISD will be closed Friday, August 28, 2020 following power outages affecting many staff members and students.

Shelbyville ISD Cancels Friday Classes, Students Return Monday

August 27, 2020 - All classes at Shelbyville are cancelled for Friday, August 28, 2020 due to power outages. Classes are scheduled to resume on Monday, August 31st. Stay safe.

Timpson ISD Cancels Classes, Game for Thursday

August 26, 2020 - Timpson ISD has made the decision to cancel classes for Thursday August 27, 2020 due to the likelihood of damage, outages and difficulties related to Hurricane Laura. TISD plans to resume classes on Friday August 28, 2020.

The JV football game scheduled for tomorrow in Frankston has been cancelled as well.

Joaquin ISD Closes Thursday for Hurricane Laura

August 26, 2020 - Joaquin ISD will be closed Thursday, August 27th due to Hurricane Laura. Remote instruction will not be provided. A determination for Friday will be made tomorrow afternoon. Please continue to check the Joaquin ISD Facebook page and the local media outlets for updates.
