Panola College Moves to Altered Operations Due to Inclement Weather

February 11, 2021 - Panola College will move to altered operations February 15 - 18, 2021 due to inclement weather.  

All courses will move to virtual instruction during this time. Faculty and staff will be available by phone and email. All locations will be closed to the public during altered operations.

Regular operations will resume Friday, February 19, 2021.

COVID-19 Vaccine Arrives in Texas

December 14, 2020 - The first shipments of COVID-19 vaccine have been delivered in Texas. Four sites received 19,500 doses of the Pfizer vaccine Monday morning. An additional 19 sites will receive 75,075 doses on Tuesday.

“Seeing the first doses of vaccine arrive in Texas is an important milestone signaling that a return to our way of life is within sight,” said Dr. John Hellerstedt, DSHS Commissioner. “We cannot stop short of the finish line. This hope should lift our spirits and strengthen our resolve to do what must be done to end the pandemic.”

Free COVID-19 Drive-Thru Testing Site (Update: 88 Tested)

December 10, 2020 - If you were among the 88 people tested in the free COVID-19 Drive-Thru testing on Tuesday, please be patient. You will be contacted once the results are received. The hopes were the results would be known within 24 to 48 hours; however, it is possible the results may take longer.

Please note, the United Pentecostal Church which allowed their property to be used for the testing site, they do NOT have any testing results.

It is possible another Drive-Thru Test Clinic will be held again in Shelby County after Christmas.

Denning Rural Water System Rescinds Dec. 2 Boil Water Notice

The water on Denning Rural Public Water System no longer requires boiling.

December 8, 2020 - On December 2, 2020, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the Denning Water Supply, #2030004, to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

Timpson ISD Reports 2 Confirmed Cases of COVID-19

November 13, 2020 - Timpson ISD needs to report that we have had two lab confirmed cases of Covid-19 since last Friday. One case is an employee at the elementary school and the other is a high school student. Parents, please monitor your children for symptoms and report to the school if your child begins having Covid-19 symptoms. TISD will follow protocol from the Texas Health Department and the Centers for Disease Control in our efforts to mitigate the spread of the virus. Your continued prayers are appreciated.

Joaquin ISD Notification of Confirmed COVID-19 Case on Campus

Dear Parent/Guardian and Staff:

October 9, 2020 - In keeping with Joaquin ISD’s practices to respond to COVID-19, we are notifying all student families and staff members that one Joaquin ISD student was lab-confirmed to have COVID-19. The student was last on campus on October 7, 2020 and tested positive October 8, 2020. Due to privacy requirements, we will not be releasing the name of the individual or details that may identify him or her.

Center ISD COVID Case Update, Oct. 9

October 9, 2020 - Center ISD Elementary and Middle School campuses have reported another positive case of COVID-19. In response to this occurence, Center ISD has issued letters to parents, guardians and staff members regarding the cases. Once again, the information only states the positive case is an individual and does not identify as a student or staff member:

October 9, 2020 - We knew that when this school year began, it would be met with challenges. After eight weeks of school, our Tiger students and staff have done an amazing job of handling school AND doing their part to mitigate Covid-19. Across the nation, organizations are facing tough decisions at this moment as Covid-19 infections have surged yet again. It’s a real virus... people get sick... but the worst part of this virus, is that it is spreading.
