February 7, 2022 - The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) is now accepting applications for the Texas Clean School Bus (TCSB) Program. An estimated $13 million in grant funding is available to replace or retrofit school buses to help reduce children’s exposure to diesel exhaust in and around diesel-fueled school buses.

January 17, 2022 - Due to a large number of scheduled Covid tests, Center ISD will not be offering walk-in Covid testing on Thursday, January 20. If any staff or student is experiencing any symptoms of Covid-19, please stay off campus on Thursday and walk in testing will resume on Friday morning, January 21 at 8am.
January 3, 2022 - Due to electrical issues, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has required the Denning Rural Water System PWS # 2030004 to notify ALL customers to boil their water prior to consumption (eg., washing hands/face, brushing teeth, drinking, etc). Children, seniors and persons with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria, and all customers should follow these directions.
November 22, 2021 - The water on San Augustine Rural WSC no longer requires boiling.
On November 16, 2021, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the San Augustine Rural Public Water System, #2030007, to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.
On October 14, 2021, Pilot Water Solutions SWD LLC, 20 Greenway Plaza, Ste 200, Houston, Texas 77046, filed an application with the Railroad Commission of Texas for a Commercial Surface Pit Facility Permit to washout trailers.
The proposed pit site is located 7 miles South East of Joaquin in Shelby County, Texas. The proposed disposal site is located on real property owned by John Leggett.
