August 18, 2020 - Timpson ISD will be moving the start date of school to Monday, August 24, 2020 due to a positive COVID-19 lab test on the TISD campus.This information came late in the day on Tuesday and we are unable to conduct the proper tracing in time for school in the morning. We are in the process of making calls to those possible contacts while following the procedures and laws set forth by the Texas Education Agency and the State of Texas. Timpson ISD has every intention of being ready for school beginning next Monday.
August 6, 2020 - On July 31, 2020, the Texas Commission on Environment, Quality required the San Augustine Rural Public Water System #2030007, to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.
July 20, 2020 - In softball, a popular concept of batting (in every part of the country), is for the batter to set up in the batter’s box with her front foot forward of the plate. They, too many coaches and most players, have not considered that method as completely as they might have.
When I ask a player why she sets up so far forward, the most frequent answer I get is, “when the pitcher throws a drop pitch, I can hit it before it drops too low to hit.”
July 20, 2020 - During the Center ISD School Board of Trustees July 20, 2020 special called meeting, a vote passed to adjust the previously approved school calendar to delay the start of the 2020-2021 school year due to COVID-19 as well as construction. Students would start August 24th and employees would return on August 10th.
