What's New at the Library

June 1, 2022 - The Fannie Brown Booth Library will have the Summer Reading/Discovery Program Kickoff Day tomorrow, Thursday, June 2nd. Schedules and reading logs will be given out during regular library hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. This is for children ages 6-13.

There will be a special “Adopt-A-Fish” craft for the first 50 children.

May 26, 2022 - The Fannie Brown Booth Memorial Library announces its Summer Reading/Discovery Program beginning Thursday, June 2, 2022. The theme of this year’s summer programs is “Oceans of Possibilities!”

On Thursday, June 2, 2022, the library will be handing out Summer Reading packets all day.

There will be kids Crafternoons every Tuesday beginning June 7th with craft times for ages 6-8 at 2pm and ages 9-13 at 3:30pm.

Reading/Discovery programs will start on Thursday, June 9th with Imagineers (ages 6-8) at 10:30am and Tweens (ages 9-13) at 2pm every Thursday, concluding on Thursday, July 7th with a performance by Magician David Gish at 10:30am.

The Library will continue its Preschool story time on Wednesdays starting June 8th at 10:30am. For more information call the library at 598-5522.

The Summer Reading/Discovery Program is sponsored by the Center Noon Lions Club. Come by the library to pick up a schedule.

February 10, 2022 - The Fannie Brown Booth Library has new Preschool Activity Packets with a valentine theme available to be picked up this week. The next Preschool Story Time will be March 2nd at 10:30 a.m.

February 1, 2022 - The Fannie Brown Booth Library will not have Preschool Story Time through the month of February due to the number of Covid cases being up. Caregivers will be able to pick up Preschool activity packs at the library. These packs will have crafts, easy worksheets and songs for the caregiver and child to work on together.

We hope to resume Preschool Story Time on Wednesday, March 2nd.

August 11, 2021 - The Fannie Brown Booth Library will once again be having Preschool Story Time on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. Story Time is for ages 2-5 years of age and must be accompanied by a caregiver. We will have a story, a simple craft, and songs. Come join us for lots of fun!

July 6, 2021 - The Fannie Brown Booth Library's summer children’s programs are almost finished. Our last program will feature Magician David Wonder. He will perform his dazzling tricks at the Library on Wednesday, July 7, at 10:30am. This show is appropriate for children ages 5 - 13 years of age.

Remember reading logs are due Friday, July 9th.

June 24, 2021 - The Fannie Brown Booth Library will host the Texas Traveling Trunk program on Saturday, June 26th, at 10:30 a.m. The program will be presented by the William Carroll Crawford Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. Many interesting items from the first days of Texas will be on display, as well as demonstrations of daily life in early Texas.

June 11, 2021 - The Fannie Brown Booth Library Summer Reading/Learning Program got off to a great start.

On Wednesday morning, our Preschool Story Time for ages 2-5 years resumed with a bang. Our story, 'The Monkey Goes Bananas,' was dramatically read by Terri Lacher. Crafts and music were enjoyed by all.

On Thursday, our Imagineers (ages 6-8) had a blast building marshmallow shooters, rocket launchers and learning about propulsion. The Tweens (ages 9-13) learned valuable skills in map-reading and enjoyed a race to find the shortest route to South Padre Island.

The Summer Reading/Learning Program is sponsored by the Center Noon Lions Club.

June 9, 2021 - The Fannie Brown Booth Library will kick off the 2021 Summer Reading/Learning Program Wednesday, June 9th. Preschool Story Time will begin at 10:30 am. This is for children ages 2-5 years. We will have a story, songs, crafts and lots of fun.

Wednesday, June 9 at 2:00 pm, we will have our Adult program. This week, we will be making stress kits.

Thursday, June 10 at 10:30 am, our Imagineers (ages 6-8 years) will meet and have a marshmallow shoot.

Also, Thursday, the Tweens (ages 9-13 years) will meet for Where Are You? They will be learning to read a road map and plan a trip with it.

Reading logs can be picked up at the Library.

November 4, 2020 - It's November and the Fannie Brown Booth Library is celebrating DINOVEMBER - a month long celebration of dinosaurs. We will have pictures on Facebook of our dino-friends getting into mischief. If you do not follow us on Facebook, just go to the Fannie Brown Booth Library page and Like us.

The Preschool Activity Bags handed out this month will be Dinosaur-themed.

Our hours at the library have changed due to COVID-19.

  • Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 10am - 4pm.
  • Thursday: 12 noon - 6pm.
  • Saturday, Sunday, Monday: Closed
