What's New at the Library

June 6, 2017 - The Fannie Brown Booth Library will re-open on Tuesday, June 6th, at 1:00 p.m. We now have power to the library. The phones and the internet were restored this morning.

We are very thankful to the City workers, Gary Helton, SWEPCO, and AT&T for their work getting us back up and running again.

Also, we appreciate the patience of all our patrons during this time when we had to be closed.

Our first programs for the 2017 Summer Reading Programs will be Thursday, June 8th. Puppet Wise will be the program for ages 4-8 years. The puppet show will start at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. The TWEEN program for ages 9-13 years will be Thursday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. This program will be building with LEGOs.

April 18, 2017 - Friends of the Library are asking for donations of gently used paperback and hardback books in good condition. No encyclopedias, please. Books may be brought to the Fannie Brown Booth Memorial Library during regular library hours.

The books will be sold in the Spring Book Sale to be held Tuesday, April 25-Saturday, April 29. All proceeds will go to the library for the purchase of new books.

Any volunteers who can help with sorting of books may call Melba at 936-591-7036 or Amy at 936-657-8529. A yearly total of five volunteer hours of work on FOL projects enables you to be registered as a FOL member.

Also on Thursday, April 6th at 2:00p.m. an adult coloring class - Color Me Calm is scheduled. The Library supplies all materials.
