Solomon to Share History Connected to Weaver Community

March 16, 2026 - Chad Solomon,RN, BSN, CFRN, CCRN, CMTE, LP will address Timpson Area Genealogy and Heritage Society Wednesday, March 18, at 2pm, in the Timpson Public Library annex. He will tell us about his family roots in the Weaver community and his career that allows him to live on property adjacent to land that has been in his family for more than a century. His field, air ambulance service, recently celebrated its 60th anniversary in our area.⁰

Scott Sosebee Speaks on History of the AFL to Kick Off the New Year

February 23, 2026 - Timpson Area Genealogy and Heritage Society welcomed their friend, Scott Sosebee, as their speaker January 21, 2026, in the Timpson Public Library annex. His subject, just in time for the Superbowl, was “Lamar Hunt and Bud Adams: Two Texans Start a league to Challenge the NFL” Mr. Sosebee, a history professor at SFASU, is Executive Director of the East Texas Historical Association as well as serving as Executive Editor of East Texas Historical Journal. Included in his resume are several published works and collaborations.

TAGHS Welcomes Historian Bill O'Neal to Speak at Aug. 20 Meeting

August 19, 2025 - Timpson Area Genealogy and Heritage Society is pleased to host one of our most popular speakers Wednesday, August 20, at 2pm, in the Timpson Public Library annex. Bill O'Neal will share the history of Miles City, MT, and how our Texas cattle ranches figured in it's development. In particular, the role of the XIT Ranch, granted to its owners in return for constructing our Texas capitol, will be explained by Mr. O'Neal.
