January 7, 2025 - Princess Ball tickets are selling fast! There are still tickets available for the 1-3pm ball on Saturday, January 24, 2026 for ages 3-13 years old. Tickets are $30, cash only, and can be picked up at the Shelby County Children’s Advocacy Center located at 131 Tenaha Street, Center, Texas. When purchasing tickets, please have the name of the male who will be escorting the princesses.
January 7, 2026 - All courthouse offices, including the Tax Office, are fully re-open as of 9am Wednesday, January 7.
January 6, 2026 - The Courthouse will re-open on Wednesday, January 7th at 8am with normal office hours. All offices should be up and running except for the Tax Office.

January 6, 2026 - AT&T problems continue as they are again experiencing an outage. Please be advised the outage can impact some businesses' phone systems as well as their ability to accept credit card payments. AT&T did advise their engineers are working to restore service quickly and expects to have their internet back online by Tuesday, January 6 at 7pm.

December 16, 2025 - The University of Texas at Tyler recognize fall 2025 degree candidates during UT Tyler's Fall 2025 Commencement December 12-13 and two of the graduates were from Tenaha.
Maria Alvarado earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the School of Health Professions and received her diploma on Friday, December 12 in the R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center.
December 10, 2025 - The deadline to file to be listed on the March 2026 Primary Ballot has passed. The only race to have Democratic and Republican candidates was the Commissioner Precinct 4 position which means the race will not be decided until the November 2026 General Election. Also, in the Justice of the Peace Pct. 4 race, Richard Lundie filed an intent to run in the November 2026 General Election as an indepentent. Lundie will have to follow through with additional requirements including a supporting nominating petition before he will be listed on the November ballot.
