February 17, 2026 - Early voting in the 2026 March 3rd Primary Elections began at 7am on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. Links to sample ballots, polling locations, and early voting schedule are below.

February 13, 2026 - Six Shelby County fire departments were awarded funds today from the Texas A&M Forest Service through the Rural Volunteer Fire Department Assistance Program.

The Texas A&M Forest Service awarded the third round of equipment grants for Fiscal Year 2026 on February 13, 2026. Approximately $14 million in grants was awarded to Texas volunteer fire departments with $155,000 being awarded to local Shelby County fire departments eith Personal Protective Equipment or Training Aids.

January 15, 2026 - The May Uniform Election Day for local non-county political subdivisions such as cities and schools is Saturday, May 2, 2026.
