DPS Increases Traffic Enforcement for Thanksgiving Holiday

November 22, 2022 - The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is stepping up enforcement for the Thanksgiving holiday to ensure people are able to get to and from their celebrations safely. Texas Highway Patrol Troopers will increase enforcement on the roads from Wednesday, November 23, through Sunday, November 27. DPS Troopers will be looking for people not wearing seat belts, driving while intoxicated, speeding and failing to follow the Move Over, Slow Down law, among other traffic violations.

November 22, 2022 - Good morning! It's Tuesday, November 22.

The Apostle Paul wrote just about half of the New Testament - 12 books out of 27 - 13 if you believe that he wrote Hebrews. I don't. I like to believe, as do some theologians, that Priscilla wrote Hebrews. Out of the 66 books in the Bible, it would be nice if at least one of them was written by a woman!

“The Hills of San Augustine” by Neal Murphy

November 21, 2022 - Many cities are known for the hills surrounding them.  Rome is known as the “city of seven hills”.  There is also a Seven Hills in Ohio.  San Augustine can also boast of several hills surrounding the city.  In the 1950’s when a teenager, I had experiences on each one of them.  There are four hills surrounding the city – actually three hills and one dip.

Texas Water Development Board Agricultural Water Conservation Grant Applications Now Open

November 21, 2022 – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) is now accepting applications for Fiscal Year 2023 Agricultural Water Conservation Grants. Up to $1,200,000 in grant funding is available to eligible political subdivisions and state agencies for agricultural water conservation projects that improve irrigation efficiency, enhance resilience to weather extremes and climate variability, and promote innovation in agriculture.
