Areas with Historically Strong Turkey Populations Sets the Table for Hunter Success this Spring

March 15, 2022 – Areas in Texas that have historically had huntable populations of wild turkeys will have solid numbers again this spring hunting season. Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) biologists say hunters will have the most luck in the Cross Timbers, the Edwards Plateau and South Texas regions.

Texas Homeowners Assistance Grants for Delinquent Property Taxes, Late Mortgage Payment

March 14, 2022 - The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) will administer monies from the Homeowners Assistance Fund (HAF) passed as part of the American Rescue Plan. This program will help qualified homeowners avoid foreclosure as a result of delinquent mortgage or property tax payments.

TDHCA plans to launch the program statewide March 2, 2022.

DPS Increases Patrols for Spring Break

March 11, 2022 – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) will increase its presence on the roads to ensure highways are safe as part of a spring break enforcement campaign. From March 12 through March 20, the Texas Highway Patrol will be out looking for people who are violating traffic laws as part of Operation CARE (Crash Awareness and Reduction Effort). The Operation will include St. Patrick’s Day.
