Boil Water Notice for N.E.W. Water System in San Augustine (Rescinded)

June 18, 2018 - The water on N.E.W. WSC no longer requires boiling. On June 12, 2018, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the N.E.W. Water Supply, #2030034, to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boilded prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

Farm Service Agency Public Meetings Scheduled

June 12, 2018 - Nacogdoches-Angelina-Trinity-San Augustine-Shelby Farm Service Agency will conduct public meetings to discuss the County Committee election / nomination process and other FSA assistance programs as well as FSA farm loan programs. Agency representative will be available to answer any questions regarding all programs available to producers. The meetings will be held on the following dates at the places listed:

TSTC Registration Rallies Begin June 21

June 11, 2018 Marshall - Texas State Technical College in Marshall will host two Registration Rallies this summer - all part of an effort to make the registration process as easy as possible for students starting classes in the fall semester. The first rally will be held on Thursday, June 21, with the second following on Thursday, July 19.

Recruiting and Admissions staff will be on standby to walk students through the registration process. They will also offer tours and help with applications.

Military Personnel Enjoy Free Admission to THC's State Historic Sites All Summer Long

June 11, 2018 - This summer, the Texas Historical Commission’s (THC) state historic sites are participating in the Blue Star Museums program that gives active military personnel and their families free admission to museums and historic sites. The program, coordinated by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), began Memorial Day and lasts through Labor Day (Sept. 3, 2018). 

TxDOT Project Updates, Work Schedule for June 11-15

June 8, 2018 Lufkin – Motorists can expect delays and detours as many Lufkin District projects continue with road closures or single lane travel. Motorists should reduce speed through a work zone and move to another lane of travel if one is available. Stay alert for moving equipment and workers and respect all traffic control devices in place. Shelby SWCD Natural Resources/Agriculture Scholarship Award

May 30, 2018 - This year the Shelby Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) will be awarding a $1,000 scholar-ship. The scholarship recipient will receive $500 for the fall 2018 semester and another $500 for the spring 2019 semester. The Shelby SWCD Scholarship is open to college students who are working toward a degree in the natural resources or agricultural field. We will be looking at individuals who meet the following qualifications:
