June 1, 2018 - NMC Health Network’s continuous dedication to elevate the quality, consistency and safety of the services and patient care offered to the people of Deep East Texas has led to the organization’s most recent decision to enhance their Radiation Oncology program at NMC’s Loma Laird Cancer Center with the purchase of a new linear accelerator. 

May 31, 2018 - The Texas Department of State Health Services’ new TexasAIM program has enrolled 166 hospitals in the effort to decrease maternal mortality and other severe pregnancy complications. That means approximately two-thirds of the Texas hospitals that provide labor and delivery services have committed to adopting clinical practices proven to reduce complications that threaten the lives of mothers and babies.

May 31, 2018 – Teachers and other school professionals serve as an important first line of defense in the battle against child abuse. In our state, educators remain the largest professional group to report suspected child abuse and neglect. This time of year, children eagerly prepare for summer vacation, summer camps, trips to the pool, family vacations, and also decreased amounts of adult supervision. May 31, 2018 - It is getting close to What-A-Melon time and we are gearing up for our 5th Annual What-A-Melon Crawl 5K Run/Walk. The events for the What-A-Melon Festival are July 12-14, with the 5K being on the 14th. This year, proceeds from the run are going to the Shelby County Cancer Fund.
