April 23, 2018 - Joaquin's Boys and Girls track team competed in the Area Meet in San Augustine on Thursday, April 19th. Several advanced to the Regional Meet, which will be held in Palestine on April 27-28.
Joaquin Boy's Sprint Relay was the AREA Champion. The team consist of Connor Bragg, Keith Johnson, Hunter Gates, and Gunner Neilson.
The Girl's 4x400m relay advanced to the Regional Meet. The team consist of Riley Sherrod, Day'za Lane, Ana Rodriguez, Chrislyn Pena, Ebbie McCann, and Secoya Barnes.
April 23, 2018 - Joaquin High School sophomore, Abi Hooper, participated in the Region III-AA Academic Meet held at Panola College last week. Abi won 1st Place in the Ready Writing and will advance to compete in the 2018 Academic UIL State Meet on the University of Texas at Austin campus on May 4.
April 20, 2018 - Joaquin Elementary Students participated in the PASTA FOR PENNIES program with the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society again this year. The dates were March 19, 2018-April 6, 2018. LLS helps to find a cure for blood cancers and improve the quality of life for patients and their families. Every 3 minutes someone is diagnosed with blood cancer. Every 9 minutes someones loses that battle. Blood cancers can affect any age, from babies to the elderly.
Joaquin Elementary Students collected a total of $2,730.04.
April 13, 2018 — All first graders at Joaquin Elementary School were recently given free prevent tooth decay kits through the Fantastic Teeth Fan Club. Members of Joaquin Masonic Lodge, led by Jay Wilson, assembled and delivered more than 45 dental hygiene kits to the school.
The Fantastic Teeth Fan Club, sponsored by Masonic Home and School of Texas (MHS), strives to prevent suffering from toothaches, reduce missed school days due to dental problems, and cut costs for dental treatment.
March 26, 2018 - Joaquin HS Senior, Zach Bell competed this past weekend in Abilene, TX at the Texas High School State Powerlifting Meet. He placed 4th in the Super Heavy Weight Division with a 1,690 lb total. His lifts included Squat 715, Bench 425, and Dead lift 550. Congratulations Zach!
