February 8, 2022 - The water on San Augustine Rural WSC no longer requires boiling.
On February 2, 2022, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the San Augustine Rural Public Water System, #2030007, to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

February 4, 2022 - The Shelby County Commissioners have approved a project to move forward with repairs to the Shelby County Jail plumbing system at a cost of $75,000.

February 4, 2022 - A Shelbyville man was involved in an auto-pedestrian crash in Nacogdoches County Thursday night, and according to the Texas Department of Public Safety lost his life as a result of the incident.
The report states the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) the auto-pedestrian crash took place on state Highway 21, approximately one-mile west of Chireno, yesterday Feb. 3, 2022.
February 3, 2022 - The Center square was the scene of a two-vehicle crash Thursday night, February 3, 2022.
Center Police officers, assisted by the Texas Department of Public Safety, investigated the crash on San Augustine Street that occurred sometime before 9:30pm.
