February 2, 2022 - Panola College will shift to remote learning on Thursday and Friday, February 3 and 4, 2022, due to impending inclement weather. All physical locations will be closed. All locations will resume normal operations on Monday, February 7.

February 1, 2022 - According to updated cumulative data from the Texas Department of State Health Service’s Covid-19 Dashboard, the number of infections in January 2022 soared for Shelby County to 976 new cases. Of the new cases reported during the month, 557 were new confirmed cases and 419 were new probable cases.

February 1, 2022 - Crews will begin pre-treating operations throughout the nine-county Lufkin District tomorrow ahead of any possible freezing precipitation that could be experienced later in the week.
A brine solution will be applied to major roadways, bridges, elevated surfaces and overpasses Tuesday and into Wednesday, if necessary. Motorists are urged to reduce speed near this moving work zone. Respect all traffic control and stay alert.
January 31, 2022 - Property Taxes are due Monday, January 31st to the county tax assessor-collector, Debora Riley. If you wait until February 1st, a penalty and interest of 7% will be charged for unpaid tax bills. In March the penalty and interest increases to 9% and continues to increase an additional 2% each month.
The courthouse is open until 4:30pm Monday through Friday.
