August 6, 2021 - U.S. Highway 84 just east of Tenaha was the scene of a major single-vehicle crash Friday, August 6, 2021.
Emergency responders established a landing zone at the intersection of U.S. Highway 84 and FM 699 so a helicopter could transport the driver involved from the scene.

August 6, 2021 - Commissioner McSwain states a lot of progress was made yesterday and CR 1488 will be closed today August 6, 2021, from the intersection of CR 1211 to FM 1645 as the Road and Bridge crew will be adding oil to that road today.
August 5, 2021 - Roscoe McSwain, Shelby County Precinct 1 Commissioner, announces work has commenced on CR 1211 off of State Highway 7 West to the intersection of CR 1488. Additionally, work continues on CR 1488 to the intersection of FM 1645.

August 3, 2021 - According to the Texas DSHS Covid-19 Dashboard, during the month of July total reported numbers were 136 new cases, 2 deaths, and 118 recoveries. At the end of July, the estimated number of active cases was 43.
Over the past seven days, since the July 28th report, there have been 23 new cases, 1 new death, and 3 new recoveries. As of today, the active case count is 47.
August 2, 2021 – School zone flashers are being activated throughout the Lufkin District for the 2021 school year. Drivers are urged to be cautious and alert as they drive through school zones and for buses picking up and delivering students.
