Stephen F. Austin State University students enjoy the wintry weather conditions on campus Sunday, Jan. 10. Classes for Monday have been canceled.

January 10, 2021 - The National Weather Service, Shreveport, LA, at 10:59am CST on Sunday, January 10, 2021 issued an urgent winter weather message.

Accumulating snowfall will be possible across portions of the area this evening through Monday morning.

January 8, 2021 - Thursday new cases of COVID-19 managed to push the active case count into the triple digits with a total of 102.

The Texas COVID-19 Dashboard reports 9 total new cases for the day with 2 of the new cases being confirmed cases and 7 probable cases.

No new recoveries were reported to help offset the new cases. No new deaths were reported.

January 7, 2021 - Commissioner Tom Bellmyer reports, despite challenges from the weather, repair to the bridge on CR 4849 has been completed and the roadway is back open. Thank you for your patience during the time it took to make the repairs.

January 4, 2021 - Shelby County Commissioner for Precinct 4 Tom Bellmyer has closed a section of CR 4849 between CR 4861 and CR 4872 due to a truck which has broken down and damaged a bridge on January 5. 

January 6, 2021 - New cases of COVID-19 continue to be reported with 14 new cases overnight and no new recoveries.

The Texas COVID-19 Dashboard reports 7 of the new cases are confirmed cases and 7 are probable cases.

The total active cases increase to 93 and is getting closer to triple digits.
