Tenaha ISD Suspends Operations Due to Flu

January 17, 2018 - After conferring with our Board President Aaron Roland, Vice President Ronnie Samford, and various TISD administration members and staff, we have made the decision to close operations for the remainder of the week due to excessive absenteeism due to the recent outbreak of the flu. Upon return to classes today, 20% of the student population and 15% of staff are absent and many of those have been confirmed with Type A flu or flu-like symptoms and/or fever.

Tenaha School Delayed Start on Wednesday (Update: 11:59)

January 16, 2018 (Update: 11:59) - TISD will resume classes tomorrow (Wednesday, January 17) at 9:30 AM.  Buses will run at 8:30 AM.  Please use extreme caution on all roadways as temperatures will remain below freezing, but no additional precipitation is expected. Also, the Lady Tigers and Tigers Basketball teams will resume District play versus Joaquin at 5:00 PM tomorrow in the SEC.

Center Christian Academy Wednesday Classes Cancelled; Childcare Available

January 16, 2018 - (Update: 4:36pm) - Center Christian Academy will not hold classes Wed, Jan 17, due to potentially hazardous weather conditions. However, childcare  will be available for working parents beginning at 8am. 

If you need childcare tomorrow, please notify Mrs. Triplett or Ms. Karen Mayo so that adequate staffing preparations can be made. 

Joaquin ISD Monitoring Weather; Plans Late Start Wednesday (Update: 3:07pm)

January 16, 2018 - (Update: 3:07pm) - Joaquin ISD will have a late school start on Wednesday, January 17, 2018.  Classes will begin at 9am.  Buses will run approximately an hour later than usual.


January 16, 2018 - (Update: 6:12am) - Joaquin ISD will be closed today, January 16, 2018 due to weather. Classes will resume as normal on January 17, 2018.
