Tenaha, Raymond Jackson Stadium, Saturday, October 10, 2020 -

The Tenaha Tigers defeated the visiting West Sabine Tigers varsity football team by a 36-16 score. This win boosted the Tenaha District 11 2A conference mark at 3-0 atop the standings. The THS season mark is now 4-2.

Jeremy Patton got Tenaha on the board with an 8-yard touchdown run with 9:29 minutes left in the first quarter after West Sabine fumbled in the early going. Manuel Laredo kicked the extra point and THS took a 7-0 lead.

A Tray Tutt 22-yard touchdown reception, with 4:18 left in the opening stanza, helped boost the Tenaha lead to 14-0. Patton scored his second touchdown on a 38-yard scoring run with 10:42 left in the second quarter which gave THS a 22-0 advantage.

Tristin Claiborne added another touchdown onto Tenaha’s tally after he scored on a keeper after hitting Tutt on a 61-yard pass which had gotten the ball down close to the goal line. Tenaha led 30-0 at the midway break.

Julius Mason got West Sabine on the board with the only score of the third period, a 50-yard scamper that pulled WSHS to within 30-8 of the Tigers.

Tre Keggler extended Tenaha’s lead to 36-8 with a 17-yard touchdown run with 9:33 left in the game.

WSHS scored with just 2:46 remaining in the contest when Mason ran in from 5-yards out and West Sabine converted on a 2-point conversion run.

Tenaha will travel to Mount Enterprise next Friday, October 16, 2020 for a 7 p.m. kickoff at Wildcats Stadium.

October 9, 2020 - Tigers vs. West Sabine Football has been moved to Saturday, October 10 at 6:00PM.

Being on the border of the path of Hurricane Delta makes travel for fans and players from West Sabine an uncertainty.

October 9, 2020 - The Joaquin vs. San Augustine Varsity football game scheduled for today, October 09 has been rescheduled to Saturday, October 10th at 6:00 pm and will still be played at San Augustine. 

There are limited tickets still available at the Joaquin Administration Office. Go Rams!

Update: According to Coach David Benbow, the game for tomorrow, October 8, 2020 in Madisonville vs Sacred Heart has been cancelled. Sorry for the inconvenience.

October 7, 2020 - Shelbyville Varsity will play against Hallettsville Sacred Heart, Madisonville, TX on Thursday, October 8th with a 7pm kickoff. Shelbyville is visitor. Tickets are $5 adults and $3 students. No pre-sale. All tickets sold at the gate. There is a 700 capacity for the Visiting side. The field is located at 811 South May Street, Madisonville, Texas.

October 6, 2020 - Due to COVID-19 regulations at West Hardin, Shelbyville High School’s varsity football game scheduled for Friday, October 9th against West Hardin High school is postponed for a later date. The Dragons are looking for another game this week. As soon as we receive more information, we will let you know. GO DRAGONS!!!

October 5, 2020 - The Center Varsity team will play Carthage in Carthage on Friday, October 9, 2020. The following ticket information applies:

Joaquin Rams Stadium, Friday, October 2, 2020 –

The Joaquin Rams varsity football team struggled in the early going of Friday’s District 10 Class 2A-1 conference opener with the visiting Garrison High School’s Bulldogs. After the Bulldogs got a 36-yard field goal from Andy Marques and a 39-yard touchdown reception from Maxwell Gipson, GHS led 10-0 by the end of the first quarter.

Joaquin began to bounce back early in the second period as they scored on a 33-yard run to begin the second stanza. JHS recovered a fumble with 11:21 left in the first half. They trailed 10-8 at halftime.

Neither team was able to score during the third quarter. A 23-yard touchdown by Ram Andre Brown at the start of the fourth quarter pulled JHS ahead with their first lead at 14-10.

A bad snap mishandled on a punt gave Joaquin really good field position and they scored again with 9:07 left in the game on a Gauge Jordan 17-yard run. The Rams were ahead 20-10.

Garrison bounced back on a Kevin Page reception for a touchdown that pulled them to within 20-17 of the Rams late in the game.

Jordan intercepted a Garrison pass late and went 44-yards for the touchdown which allowed JHS to score the final 8 points with time expired.

Joaquin is now 5-0 and 1-0 in conference action. Garrison is 2-3 for this season and 0-1 in league play.

The Rams will travel to San Augustine for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff with the Wolves on Friday, October 9, 2020.

Thursday Night Game
Shelbyville 25 - Timpson 41, Final Score

Last week Shelbyville enjoyed a bye week and all four of the remaining teams from Shelby County won their varsity football games.

The Center Roughriders used a last second field goal to beat visiting Van High School by a narrow 31-28 margin. This week the ‘Riders, now 4-1, will enjoy a bye week as they prepare to take on Carthage (2-0) at Bulldogs Stadium on Friday October 9, 2020. Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m. This game will start District 10 Class 4A-2 play for both teams.

The Joaquin Rams beat visiting Clarksville by a 40-10 score. The Rams are now 4-0 and will host 2-2 Garrison at Rams Stadium on Friday, October 2, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. This will kick off District 10 2-A play for JHS.

Shelbyville’s record stands at 1-2. The Dragons will host the Timpson Bears on Thursday for Homecoming. The Bears are 5-0 and beat James Bowie 55-6 last week. This will be both teams first 2020 District 10 2-A opener.

The Tenaha Tigers beat the visiting Lovelady Lions by a 41-18 score. Tenaha is now 2-2 and 1-0 in District 11 2-A conference action. They will travel to face the Colmesneil Bulldogs on Friday, October 2, 2020. Kickoff at Bulldog Stadium is 7 p.m. The Bulldogs beat the Overton Mustangs last Friday 14-12 for their first district win. They are 3-1 overall.
