Memorial Day Recognized in Timpson; Young Performs Taps

May 25, 2020 - Timpson held a brief Memorial Day program Monday, May 25, 2020 on the city square beside the gazebo.

The ceremony began with Vernett Richardson, U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer-retired, approaching the flag pole on the square where he handed another flag off to mayor Debra Smith.

Tree Down, Power Out on Stephens Street

May 26, 2020 - A Shelby County Today viewer has reported a tree across Stephens Street, blocking the roadway, and a power outage as a result which began around 7am.

As of 9:23am, the tree remains across the roadway and the power is still out.

May 11, 2020 - Center Police Officers were alerted to a crash incident just before the intersection of Shelbyville Street and Martin Luther King Drive May 8, 2020.

At the scene it appeared a white Kia crossed Shelbyville Street and struck a speed limit sign where it came to a stop.
