March 29, 2021 - Shelby County Commissioners approved the distribution of Child Safety Fee funds during their meeting held Wednesday, March 24, 2021.

Denise Merriman, Shelby County Children's Advocacy Center (SCCAC) Executive Director, expressed gratitude on behalf of the organization for the continued support by Shelby County.

Roscoe McSwain, Commissioner Precinct 1, asked for confirmation from Clint Porterfield, County Auditor, on the percentage of the fee usually split between the SCCAC and the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA).

March 21, 2021 - North First Street (US 59) in Timpson was the scene of a two-vehicle crash Tuesday, March 16, 2021.

Emergency responders were called to the scene of the crash just after 12-noon at the intersection of First and Garrison Streets. 

March 16, 2021 - Center Police Department officers were alerted of a two-vehicle crash on Hurst Street at the entrance to Walmart at 7:20am Tuesday, March 16, 2021.

March 14, 2021 - As Shelby County continues its quest for reliable communications for emergency personnel, the commissioners are now faced with an even larger price tag than before of potentially $206,000.

March 6, 2021 - Josh Tipton, Constable Precinct 5, reports the arrest of a man selling narcotics out of a church property in Precinct 5.

Constable Tipton states an individual was without a place to live and the church allowed him to stay on their property in a building at that location.

Unbeknownst to the church congregation, narcotics were being sold from the church building where the man was staying.
