June 3, 2015 - The “S” Award for Scholastic Excellence and medal is presented to students who have a yearly average of 90 or above in every subject. The following students are to be commended for maintaining this level of academic excellence.
June 2, 2015 - S. W. Carter Elementary School presented an Accelerated Reader Certificate to students earning 100 or more AR points for the 2014-2015 school year.
June 2, 2015 - The President’s Award for Educational Excellence was established to recognize academic success in the classroom. It is designed to encourage students to achieve high academic standards by recognizing and rewarding them for educational excellence. To receive this award, fifth grade students must have high achievement on the math or reading portion of the 5th grade STAAR test and earn a grade point average of 90 or above in the fourth and fifth grades.
June 2, 2015 - The President’s Award for Educational Achievement is given to recognize students who show outstanding educational growth, improvement, commitment or intellectual development in their academic subjects but do not meet the criteria for the President’s Award for Educational Excellence. This award is meant to encourage and reward students who work hard and put forth their best effort in all academic areas.
May 27, 2015 - Two Shelbyville S.W. Carter Elementary students were selected to received the honored S.W. Carter Award during the awards program held Friday, May 22, 2015 and they were sisters Neera and Neena Smith.

May 19, 2015 - Altobeli Caporali and Kylee Windham, seniors at Shelbyville High School, are recipients of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Area Go Texan Scholarship this year. Each received $18,000 to be used their first year at the Texas college or university of their choice.
