Over the next two weeks, we’ll have two week-long devotion series. Starting next Monday, we’ll focus on the events of Passion Week, leading to Good Friday and Easter. This week, leading to Palm Sunday, we’ll focus on the theme of praise.

March 23, 2023 - Good Morning! It’s Thursday, March 23.

On this day in 1743, Handel’s Messiah was about to be premiered at the Royal Opera House in London. The whole city was talking about this new work, and such a huge crowd was expected that night, that ladies were urged to leave their hoops (from their hoop skirts) at home.

March 21, 2023 - Good Morning! It’s Tuesday, March 21.

On this day in 1685, the man who, arguably, was the greatest musician in history, was born. His name was Johann Sebastian Bach. He died in 1750, a quarter century before America was born, producing a body of work, in his 65 years, unparalleled by any other composer.

March 17, 2023 - Good Morning!  It’s Friday, March 17.

Tomorrow, the Women’s Ministry of First Baptist Center will host their annual Joy Seekers Women’s Conference.  Today, we complete a short series about people in desperate situations who encountered Jesus.  Today, we focus on the story from John 8 about the adulterous woman.

Our pastor is preaching a sermon series called "Desperation". It features stories of Bible characters who, at a desperate moment in their lives, encountered Jesus. We see one of these stories, one of these people, in the 9th chapter of the Gospel of John.
