March 13, 2017 - The Shelby County Commissioners approved a DOT drug testing agreement for 2017 with Compliance Management, LLC at their meeting held on Monday, March 13, 2017.

The subject of DOT drug testing has been up for discussion at Commissioners' Court since the middle of 2016 and at the last meeting held February 27, 2017 Roscoe McSwain, Commissioner Precinct 1, questioned who would receive the drug testing report. During that same meeting Ann Blackwell, Shelby County Treasurer, indicated it appeared a medical professional may need to be designated.

March 8, 2017 - Nacogdoches Street in Center was the scene of a two-vehicle crash at 2:45pm Wednesday, March 8, 2017 which resulted in major damage to both vehicles involved.

March 1, 2017 - FM 2026 was the scene of a major single-vehicle crash Saturday, February 25, 2017 resulting in injuries to the driver requiring she be flown from the scene by helicopter.

According to Texas Department of Public Safety State Trooper Keith Jones, at 12:42am a 9-1-1 call was received by the Shelby County Sheriff's Department regarding a single-vehicle rollover crash on FM 2026 (Folsom Chapel Road). At the time of his arrival on scene, Trooper Jones observed a black 2015 Chrysler 200 rolled over.

February 27, 2017 - (Album) - The Old Spanish Trail ride kicked off Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Joaquin Logansport Bridge on Haslam Strip.
