I appreciate each one of you and pray that our daily connections will be a blessing to you in 2023.

David’s Daily Devotion for Dec. 16

December 16, 2022 - Good morning!  It’s Friday, December 16.

Beginning Monday, I’ll be taking a short break from these little thoughts.  A time for family and a time to recharge.  The Daily Devotions will be back on Monday, January 2, 2023 - our fourth year!  Until then, I leave you with a few of my favorite Christmas quotes -

“The best way to spread Christmas cheer, is singing loud for all to hear!”  -  Buddy the Elf

David's Daily Devotion for December 15

December 15, 2022 - Good Morning! It’s Thursday, December 15.

When you think of great hymn stories maybe you think of John Newton standing on the deck of his slave ship before he was amazingly saved - and wrote Amazing Grace. Or maybe you think of Horatio Spafford standing on the deck of an ocean liner looking out at the spot where his family's ship went down - before he went back to his stateroom and, in his grief, wrote It is Well With My Soul. The greatest story behind a Christmas carol isn't nearly that dramatic... but it is memorable.

David's Daily Devotion for December 14

December 14, 2022 - Good Morning! It’s Wednesday, December 14.

Have you ever wondered why God created angels? What is their purpose? How are they different from us? I recommend Billy Graham’s book “Angels”. It answers questions like these and is a fascinating read. He reminds us that, above all else, angels were created to do God’s will. The word angel means “messenger” and they certainly serve that purpose in the Christmas story as they share the good tidings with Mary, Joseph, and the shepherds.

David's Daily Devotion for December 8

December 8, 2022 - Good Morning! It’s Thursday, December 8.

There are some Christmas songs that really don't have anything to do with Christmas. "Jingle Bells" doesn't mention gifts or Santa or Rudolph - it's just a song about winter fun - but what would Christmas be without it! "Joy to the World" isn't inspired by Luke Chapter Two, it's based on the 98th Psalm - but what would Christmas be without it! This morning we look at a song that we sing all year round, but that most people don't realize is a Christmas song.
